#NationalSTEMDay

National STEM Day, this November 8th, encourages kids to pursue interests in the disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and math. STEM activities are inquiry based so they inspire creativity and curiosity at a young age. STEM education transforms traditional subjects into collaborative learning experiences.

STEM offers engaging and hands on learning for children. As advancements in technology change the world we live in, STEM educational will provide kids with the essential skills they need to be problem solvers and critical thinkers.

Here are 5 ways to celebrate National STEM Day.

1. Science Project

Do simple science experiments together. Read a work of science fiction and imagine the inventions of the future.

2. Technology

Bring out the microscopes to study found objects. Utilize available technology to try programming, coding, or game design. Create and share a project and use the hashtag #nationalstem/steamday.

3. Engineering

Build with craft sticks, blocks, anything! Plan a building project or invention. Make a prototype model of the big idea.

4. Art

Collect recyclables and repurposed items to make a creation. Utilize leftover buttons, packaging, and jars to construct your masterpiece.

5. Math

Use math to create art. Craft art pieces using 2D geometric shapes. See how the shapes come together to form positive and negative space.

The skills children learn in STEM activities will prepare them with the foundational skills to be the world’s future innovators. Happy National STEM Day!
