Hi Desiree – tell us a little about yourself!

My name is Desiree and I’m a stay at home mom. I have a 19 month old toddler and am 30 weeks pregnant with baby #2! I started my Instagram blogging journey in 2020 during the pandemic and right after I gave birth to my son. I had a very traumatic and unexpected induction at 36 weeks due to preeclampsia. It was a really weird time in the world and I needed a place to connect with other people who knew what it’s like and could relate. That’s why I started my Instagram page @_cloudyfae. I share about all things motherhood, pregnancy, life as a stay at home mom, and decor! 

What vision did you have for this space?

I designed this space for my son in his bedroom. His bedroom also functions as his playroom and this boat fits right into his Montessori play!

Tell us about the ECR4Kids item that you have in the space?

We have the Birch Rocking Boat and Steps. My son loves rocking back and forth in it with his favorite stuffed animals. When I flip it over, it also functions as stairs and he loves that part just as much! He likes to sit on top of it and look at his books.

What do you love about the item?

I love that it has multiple functions and isn’t a “one and done” toy. It can be used in any way that the child’s imagination allows!

What’s your philosophy when it comes to your son and play?

When it comes to my sons play, I prefer open ended toys. It allows them to make choices and do things their way.

What’s your favorite activity to do with your son?

My favorite activity to do with my son is any kind of pretend play because I let him lead the way which helps with confidence and independence!
