#TrainYourBrainDay
October 13th is National Train Your Brain Day. This day encourages us to participate in activities that keep the mind active. There are a variety of things you can do to improve cognitive function and sharpen the mind. Break your daily routine and do tasks that access different parts of the brain!
Trying a new challenging activity is one of the best ways to exercise your brain. Partake in brainteasers, crossword puzzles, journaling, or Sudoku. Use a non- dominant hand to complete a task. Sign up for a class or learn to play an instrument. Find a recipe and cook a dish that has been on your to do list.

Little ones can get in on the fun too. Encourage them to build a structure from blocks. Create a painting. Bring out toy instruments and make up a new song. Promote problem solving and critical thinking skills with jigsaw puzzles and matching games.
The brain needs exercise to stay healthy and alert. Strengthen the connections in the brain while learning something new. What exciting things do you plan to do to train your brain this October 13th?
